Is Hijamah Painful ?

No, Hijamah is a simple easy procedure, however patients may feel little discomfort due to small incisions performed on the upper layers of the skin contained within the cup. Some have described it as "tickles, and very relaxing".

Why should i do Hijamah ?

Hijamah is Healing procedure individuals should get as it helps increase blood circulation, energize individuals, restore mental state and recover from illnesses/diseases (These may vary depending on medical history)

Can i do Hijamah as a non Muslim ?

Yes Hijamah is recommended for all individuals to have cupping performed on them as it has many health and spiritual benefits for them

Who is performing these procedure ?

Hijamah is performed by our trained and certified practitioners who used medical standard grade equipment and hygienic cleaning methods on sessions. This involves use of disposable biodegradable cups, sterile gloves, sterile stainless steel #15 blades, Biohazard bags/bins and medical standard surface pads

What should i do before i get Hijamah done ?

It is recommended that clients take a full shower and do not eat or drink anything 3hrs prior to their appointment. (For Muslim clients performing ablution is recommended) Most importantly making a personal intention plays an important role in the holistic benefit of the session

Its recommended that patients should wear preferably loose clothing for appointments to ensure comfort and flow of energy after sessions are done.

For Male patients they must shave their back hair before the session to allow efficient cleaning and sanitizing of the skin surfaces. If males have other areas of pain such as arms and legs then they must shave hair on those as well.

 

If  Hijamah is needed to be done on patients head they will be advised to shave their hair off ahead of appointment.

How often should i get Hijamah done ?

It it recommended that Hijamah is done on sunnah days of the Islamic calendar month, more specifically 17th, 19th and 21st of these months. However where it is used as a form of treatment or management of generalised health it can be performed at any time within the months as decided by the practitioner on consultation visit.

How Long do Hijamah sessions last ?

Sessions vary depending on medical situation and history of individuals and patients adaptability during sessions.

Is there separate arrangements for sessions  done for male and females ?

Yes, Our clinic upholds principles of Female practitioners must treat female patients only and Male practitioners must treat male patients only ,however to maintain the practice being used as a form of alternative medicine option in special cases, exceptions may be made depending on individual medical history/evaluation which allows the head physician to be present within the treatment.

What happens to the blood after sessions ?

We dispose Hijamah blood, instruments and disposable cups used during session into disposable Biohazard bags which is discarded according to medical standard practices.

What should Patients do after Hijamah sessions ?

We highly recommend Post Hijamah session the following guidelines be Observed: 

- Showers are not recommended for up to 3-4hrs

- Patients keep well hydrated

- Take adequate rest to assist the body with the detoxification, restoration and regeneration process. (Herxheimer/Healing crisis)

- No strenuous activities 

- No engagement in marital relations up to 24 - 48hrs

- No use of soaps on areas of incisions, no use of saunas and body soaks

- Only use of cold compressed olive oil is to be applied on incisions after showers

Who should avoid Hijamah ?

Wet cupping should be avoided for persons who are:

- Pregnant

- Very old age and weakness

- Undergoing chemotherapy

- Under blood thinner medications

- Certain medical conditions
